Walking The Walk: Change for the Better
Welcome to Walking the Walk: Change for the Better a podcast about how changing your perspectives can lead to a better life if you let it. The things that I encounter in my job as a Health Promoter, a solo parent of a queer/non-binary/ADHD teenager and a partner trying to make long distance love work, all impact how I make my way through the world and sometimes that journey is in need of an improvement. If this sounds relatable, then hopefully the lessons I learn along those different paths, as I'm walking the walk will be too. We are all walking alongside each other, and if we can learn from one another along the way, it will have been a journey well spent.

Who among us hasn't caved and bought that cute T-shirt while on vacation, or dashed into the store because something caught our eye in the window display? We can probably all remember the "back to school shopping" trip that we did as kids, and may do now with our own kids, but have you ever thought about what happens to those clothes after the shine has worn off, or knees get worn out? Well, you are about to find out the good, the bad and the ugly in the thrifting and textile recycling world from Sarah Janzen of Blenderz Garment Recyclers. Join us for a fascinating conversation about what we can do to help her and her team revolutionize what happens to our textiles when we all start to look at things a little differently.

Walking The Walk is written, recorded and produced by me - Charissa McKay (aka CharCharBinx) in my awesome basement home office/studio/craft room on Treaty 6 lands known originally as amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, meaning Beaver Hill House, in Nehiyawewin (Cree). There are other names, equally as meaningful, and I am grateful to those who were here before me, for the ability to call this place my home.
