Walking The Walk: Change for the Better
Welcome to Walking the Walk: Change for the Better a podcast about how changing your perspectives can lead to a better life if you let it. The things that I encounter in my job as a Health Promoter, a solo parent of a queer/non-binary/ADHD teenager and a partner trying to make long distance love work, all impact how I make my way through the world and sometimes that journey is in need of an improvement. If this sounds relatable, then hopefully the lessons I learn along those different paths, as I'm walking the walk will be too. We are all walking alongside each other, and if we can learn from one another along the way, it will have been a journey well spent.

It's hard to imagine that this was recorded during the actual birthday's we talk about, which is already two weeks ago, but the sincerity of the wishes and the topic as are genuine now as they were then. Todd and I dig into what birthdays of yore looked like and how they factor into the slow burn that is life - happy times, sad times, good ones and bad ones we cover it all and discover some good lessons in the process. And it turns out that I do share a birthday with some folks - none that I know personally, but I did meet one of them, and there is a picture of me and Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies out there somewhere. Also Katy Perry whose music is featured in the episode as well as John Anderson, a prog rock guy and if anyone cares, Ciara...maybe I know what she sings, maybe I don't.
Anyway - hope you enjoy and I'd love to know your birthday traditions, memories and stories, so feel free to drop a note in the fanmail section or the comments.
Here's the recipes I talked about:

Walking The Walk is written, recorded and produced by me - Charissa McKay (aka CharCharBinx) in my awesome basement home office/studio/craft room on Treaty 6 lands known originally as amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, meaning Beaver Hill House, in Nehiyawewin (Cree). There are other names, equally as meaningful, and I am grateful to those who were here before me, for the ability to call this place my home.
